Leading Biogas Company Delivers Again: Stinking Waste Becomes Clean Energy, Act9
|
The TBEC TCP2 Biogas Project started commercial operations on 14, August, 2015.
The 4.2 MWe project is TBEC?s second large-scale biogas plant adjacent to Tha
Chang Group in Surat Thani, Thailand. The project is implemented by TBEC under a
Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (“BOOT”) structure. In accordance with the BOOT
terms, TBEC is responsible for the design, engineering, finance, construction and
operation of the Biogas Power Plant. TBEC shares the revenues of the project with
Tha Chang Group. The combined capacity of TBEC two biogas projects at the same
location is 7 MW. In addition to producing electricity, the projects efficiently treats the
wastewater, significantly reduces air emissions and eliminates the smell of open
ponds to the benefit of local communities. The completion of this project raises TBEC
annual emissions reductions to 400 000 per year, which is equivalent to taking 135
000 cars from the road.
